Meet 6.30pm at Beaconsfield, 22 Newport Street, London SE11 6AY for a guided night walk that interlaces historic Vauxhall with the history of Beaconsfield as an iconic artist-led Independent Gallery and Project Space. With guest artists Charlie Fox, Gail Dickerson and Anne Robinson.
We will explore the Gallery’s evolution from Nosepaint, the Vauxhall Arts Club that started in Bonnington Square Cafe in 1991, to the current historic Ragged School building, recalling Vauxhall as an industrial hub deeply entangled with the Thames, touching on the Beaufoy Institute, Doulton Pottery, River Effra and Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens as a place of alternative independent culture.
