The Worshipful the Mayor of Lambeth, Councillor Paul Valentine will open a special viewing of Gail Dickerson’s research into Lambeth’s hidden River Effra and new works made with London Clay and Lambeth Group Sediments during her Beaconsfield residency.

Open Studio … Meet the artist, discuss her research and feel the earth beneath your feet by handling London Clay and core samples from Lambeth Group sediments – millions of years old – recently excavated from local building sites.

Mining the River Effra with Gail Dickerson. Meet at Beaconsfield for an exploratory walk crossing bridges of geological time upstream from the mouth of the Effra at Vauxhall. In collaboration with InspiralLondon.
EarthAIR is Beaconsfield’s Environmental Artist In Residence scheme. for exploring environmental issues with the public through creativity and art. EarthAIRs work with Beaconsfield to address issues of sustainability by sharing their work with specific communities while in residence, exploring social and cultural contexts as well as responsibilities for the geological earth, noting relationships between organic and human environments.
